Because not all "psychics" are psychic. Most legit psychics are aware of exactly how much information they can obtain. But even with that, they can feel pressure to perform, and they will sometimes just make stuff up. But you also have the cold readers, and the people who think they are psychic because they have a handful of successful coincidences. I wouldn't be able to tell which unless I met this Dayle character in person.

For every person who reads this valuable book there are hundreds of naïve souls who would prefer to have their spines tingled by a sensational but worthless potboiler by some hack journalist of the paranormal.
