Personally I don't see the point of these types of challenges since most sceptics won't be convinced anyways if an applicant passed the challenge. On the other hand I don't see the point of Zammit's challenge either, but even as a nonsceptic I think that Randi's challenge is more fair and winnable. I'd rather see investigation of the so-called paranormal stay within scientific circles, and away from publicity stunts.
