hmm, chairs get moved around in the pub in Edinburgh overnight... then there is that picture on CCTV from Hampton Court Palace of a spook at the door...

I'm not sure the ghosts are paid to suddenly materialise to groups on ghost tours however.

Certainly a good medium could talk to a few of them and provide information that could be verified. Stuff that the medium could not have easily known.

I've been to all of them (in the article) too and Edinburg is on my bucket list.

I've only been to Edinburgh. A friend of mine says she was literally dragged down the street by something there and had to hang on to a lamp post to stop it, in broad daylight.

Edinburgh was supposed to be a big centre of witchcraft and paganism once upon a time, with lots of people burnt at the stake etc. One notable guy threatened to burn the whole town forever while he was being immolated, and today there are never-ending fires in Edinburgh with fire engines racing around all the time. Unless the local fireys have worked out a scam to keep themselves busy...

Now if you want to discuss Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC in the good ol' USA, I know those towns. They're just a hop, skip and a jump from where I live and I will be doing the ghost thing in Savannah this fall. I've been to Savannah more than a few times and I am particularly drawn to this one cemetery near St. John's Church. http://www.visit-historic-savannah.com/ ... etery.html There's a more famous cemetery in Savannah but I've yet to be able to find it while walking around.

Charleston, SC has a funky ghost vibe all over the place and they claim to be the most haunted place in this country. Battery Park was beautiful, yet somewhat gave me the willies. http://www.dreamcharleston.com/charleston-battery.html

In any Southern US location, the Spanish moss hanging from the live oaks makes it look like a Hollywood horror movie set if you're not used to it and the animals/reptiles/amphibians of the night also add a certain eerie sound track to complete the haunted ambiance. Of course, IMO, nothing beats New Orleans and the surrounding areas for the complete package of night life both spooky and entertaining. New Orleans is known for it's spirits and not necessarily the paranormal type either. ;)
