“Devotion to the truth is the hallmark of morality; there is no greater, nobler, more heroic form of devotion than the act of a man who assumes the responsibility of thinking.” - Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
Re: Levitating Girl in Russian WoodsNow that is WAY COOL!
The style of the video is almost Blair Witch Projectesque. Guy walking his dog, dog takes off. Guy chases dog and then oops! WTF is that? The only other thing that made me wonder is the guy taking the video is speaking russian and the text at the end is in English. Real or not? I don't know but it is cool as hell.
Re: Levitating Girl in Russian WoodsMe thinks it's the long-lasting affects of Chernobyl...
Or there's a guy standing off to the left side of the fram holding a rope. Not sure "witch" to believe...(pardon the pun)
Re: Levitating Girl in Russian WoodsIt's a hoax but a very nicely done piece of trickery.
I shall pass that on. Thanks!

Re: Levitating Girl in Russian WoodsYou can't walk around in the woods around Chernobyl; the trees and the ground around them are now radioactive and lethal to humans, though somehow boars forage in the area.
In the video, the dog's name is Tarzan....I agree that this is a hoax, notice that the guy's videocamera nearly slips out his hands near the end so we have the girl in the air, then the dog barks and the camera slips, and the girl is on the ground and she and her mother(?) are running away. A good spot for an edit; I would say that the girl was on a wire rig that was edited out of the shot.
Re: Levitating Girl in Russian WoodsFirstly... is it just me or does "Tarzan" the dog look like someone we know here on the forum?
Ok then. . . levitation is one of the supposed proofs of "enlightenment" or "power" that spans historic record. Images, such as the one found here () seem to be more than abundant since the advent of the camera and there's a myriad of drawn images that pre-date the phenomena by millennia the world over. Present Day Exhibitions tied to the idea of levitation including the following. . . (not all of these are "Magician's Tricks" -- in the sense of being presented as such; they are all "illusions" however) Then we have the New Age perspective of such miraculous things. . . And sadly, the Military application of Levitation that involves the troops themselves. . . Why is it such a big deal? All teasing aside. . . the stunt of staging an out door/in the middle of nowhere or on a busy city street LEVITATION really is as old as the hills (HINT: Magicians get bored easily, especially when they have a new toy or method to play with and the need to show off). I've personally staged similar shots for newspapers on several occasions. Franz Harrary used to do a bit right on Puget Sound (Seattle Bay area), in which he floated a motorcycle some 6 feet into the air. . . it's just too easy to do, especially with today's technology.
Re: Levitating Girl in Russian WoodsYou catch on fast!
If you're interested I can hook you up with one. . . I even know where you can get a used "flying" system made by the same guy that made David Copperfield's.
