Sam Parnia The aware Project. So most people on here will probably know about this study to measure conciousness when we die. Its the largest study ever done on near death experiences but i do think that the experiment will be a bit of a non conclusive one. having pictures in hospitals over patients beds in case they have a cardiac arrest and are able to then out of body see the picture seems to me to be full of problems with either 1. patients see the pictures before they die..obviously people are inquisitive and will try to have a look or 2. they actually do see the picture out of body and are then able to tell us when brought back to life. the study just seems to have too many variables and you are just then left at the end with anecdotal evidence which no-one will take seriously either way. surley they could have come up with an experiment that would result in a much more conclusive result? how would you do the experiment? surely when you die your not really thinking about having a look at a picture anyway?
Re: Sam Parnia The aware Project.I don't know why they just can't get the protocols down that the believers want and the skeptics. They keep lolly gagging through these experiements and come up with data that can go either way and once again the line is drawn in the sand. Its like this is some big sick reality TV show. Get the experiment done and let the people know. Have tighter controls so the skeptics won't complain and this and that woo woo woo ETC. If I were to do a experiement on the afterlife or the paranormal I would listen to what both sides want have them present or in easy reach of the data and let me know what to improve on. I would get it down to the TEE as we say in chicago, this is ridiculous I thought these people were smart....got to stop overrating the mainstreamist.
Re: Sam Parnia The aware Project.ok so....forget the picture stuff, just get a person that dies to verify what i ( the doctor, researcher) is doing at that specific time and place and what they had to say or didnt say and what thay were wearing! then verify the times of death and details!
